The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of child-centered school play therapy utilizing a single case experimental design for a child exhibiting emotional and behavioral problems. The behavioral observation was conducted by means of Direct Observation Form during class and recess situation over 13 weeks. Teacher Report Form was utilized three times. Data were analyzed through visual analysis and through the percentage of non-overlapping data. In the DOF syndrome scale, immature/withdrawn scale for classroom observations and total problems scale during recess observation were selected for analysis. The results indicated that immature/ withdrawn behavior decreased during the school play therapy intervention, and the impact continued to be very effective after the intervention was removed. The total problems during recess decreased over time during the intervention phase, and it continues to be minimally effective. The teacher reported that presenting problems decreased or remained the same over time. The implications for how to further promote school play therapy through a single case experimental design and its significance is also discussed.
